The Washington Redskins have played more than 1,000 games since 1932, and are one of only five franchises in the NFL to document over 600 regular season. The Redskins have won five NFL Championships, captured 14 NFL divisional names and six NFL conference championships. They won the 1937 and 1942 Championship games, along with Super Bowls XVII, XXII, and XXVI.

Based on Forbes, the Redskins are the fifth most valuable franchise in the NFL, and also would be the eleventh most valuable sports club in the world as of 2017, valued at roughly $2.95 billion.

On January 6, the Redskins fired defensive coordinator Joe Barry, secondary coach Perry Fewell, defensive line coach Robb Akey, and strength and conditioning coach Mike Clark.
